Meet Your Counselor
I’m Wendy, and I’ve been a counselor at heart all my life!
In addition to counseling countless people, I have worked in both public and private sectors with people in all stages of life. I have supervised employees, written professionally, taught graduate school, and led retreats and seminars. I consider myself a life-long learner. I have completed Level Three Certification in Gottman Couples Therapy and the Externship in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT). I have extensive training in Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), The Nurtured Heart Approach and Narrative Therapy. Most recently, I became certified in Discernment Counseling.
I am passionate about helping people tap into their strengths and transform their lives.
God has allowed me to experience different seasons, some wonderful and some not so much! But even the storms have grown, challenged and shaped me into the counselor I am today. I bring empathy and understanding to helping people gain perspective on their situations and hope for the future.
I have been married to my best friend for a long time (20 plus years). Thankfully, he gets me! Together, he and I have raised two delightfully high-spirited (now adult) children who bring us great joy. We also co-pastor a non-denominational church, where I help Christians live more joy-filled, purpose-led lives.
- I love to travel—day trips, short trips, long trips; I enjoy going on adventures and making memories with family and friends.
- Since I was a child, I’ve had a fascination with all things alligators; I don’t really know why, I just think they’re awesome!
- As a life-long learner, I love to relax with a good book and an exotic cup of tea.
